Stoneware, raised relief design is inspired by the actual letterhead used by John Deere & Co. in 1879. Take a close look and you'll see the deer head peering through a large capital "D" and below that the letters "CO" for company. Above the "D" is a plow. Raised relief borders are hand painted in the classic John Deere green and yellow colors. John Deere plow appears opposite the handle. On the embossed pewter lid is the letterhead design surrounded by the words John Deere Plow Company - Moline, ILL. - Implements, Wagons & Buggies. Official Licensed Product.
