Stoneware, raised-relief and transfer decoration. The body of this stein is titled "Mountain Stream" and depicts a trout in raised-relief leaping from the raised bottom border with stones and flowing water. A waterfall is seen near the handle. The top raised border is of an evergreen branch with needles and pinecones. The main subject area is decorated with an exclusive painted James A. Meger wrap-around scene of two eagles in flight. It appears as though the left eagle is about to grab the leaping fish. The right eagle has wings entirely spread and is ascending in flight. The background depicts majestic snow-capped mountains with forests at the foothills. The pewter lid has a leaping trout embossed in the center and evergreen trees serve as the border decoration. A pewter pine tree is the thumblift. All the raised-relief borders are accented with a cobalt blue glaze in the recesses of the body.
